Due to the proximity of fertile plains and mounts in Iran, nomads migrate their herds between summer and winter meadows and pastures to find grazing areas for their animals. There are several different tribes in these areas, each with different lifestyles and distinct colorful clothing. You will have the opportunity to witness these nomadic migrations first hand!
During the annual or seasonal migrations, nomads travel from their winter settlements to summer grazing lands with their animals. When the weather begins to get cold again, they travel back to their winter settlements.
Of the dozens of nomadic tribes, the Bakhtiyari and Qashghaye are the most well-known due to their origins, clothing, unique tribal structures and beautiful camping sites.
